Young Professionals Group

The Young Professionals Group cultivates a network of future leaders in their twenties and thirties to expand the impact of LitWorld. We represent a broad array of professional expertise and personal passions, but are unified by our belief in the LitWorld mission and our love of a good children's book.

Meet our YPG team! Click each name for a brief intro.

Maya Battle (Co-Chair)
Maya leads the YPG as co-chair.

Olivia Chase
Olivia joined the YPG in 2014. She currently works as an English teacher at a charter school in the Bronx, and her favorite children's book is "A Wrinkle in Time".

Caelyn Cobb
Caelyn Cobb is an editor for books on political science and international affairs at NYU Press. She began working with LitWorld in 2015 as a graduate student consultant for their international programs and joined the YPG in the fall of 2016.

Courtney Code
Courtney is a New Orleanian turned New Yorker whose favorite contraction will always be "y'all," Courtney is a children's book editor-in-training at Abrams and a proven caffeine enthusiast. She joined the YPG in 2015.

Neil Leston
Neil is the YPG Treasurer.

Lily Lovinger
Lily joined the YPG in 2015. She works in fundraising and special events at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and is a total ballet/dance nerd. She originally hails from Massachusetts.

Samantha Siegal (Co-Chair)
Samantha joined the YPG in 2015. She works in global innovation for PepsiCo, where she's learned more than the average bear about beverages since joining the company out of business school. When not exploring, yoga-ing or getting back to dance, she loves rereading her favorite children's book: "The Phantom Tollbooth."

Ilana Solomon
Ilana Solomon joined the YPG in the fall of 2016, after doing her Capstone Project with LitWorld in the 2015-2016 Academic year, and serving as a Research and Development intern during the summer of 2015. She received her Masters in Public Administration and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Binghamton University in May 2016, and also went to Binghamton as an undergrad, where she got her BA in English and BS in Human Development. She is currently the Development and Administrative Associate for Culture For One, a nonprofit that provides access to the arts for NYC children in foster care. Her favorite children's books (and now adult books) are the Harry Potter series--Ilana is a proud Hufflepuff :)

Carolyn Spalluto
Carolyn joined YPG in 2014. She works at JPMorgan structuring loans for technology, media and telecom companies. She loves exploring NYC's restaurant scene and cooking at home.
