Memory Keepers
Project

The Memory Keepers Project nurtures resilience and empathy through intergenerational storytelling.

Children & teens follow our Memory Keepers Project lessons and guidance to interview elders in their communities for stories about their lives. The goal is to preserve stories creatively and humanely, using the teachings as a North Star to guide the participants into an ethical, caring and resilient life of their own.

If you are interested in bringing the Memory Keepers Project to your community, get in touch.

EMPOWERING EVERYONE TO BE A MEMORY KEEPER

Every one of us are Memory Keepers. A Memory Keeper is someone who collects the stories of others so they can be honored, treasured and shared. The Memory Keeper Project reminds participants of their ability to both give and receive stories, and to hold and retell them with care and reverence.

FOSTERING INTERGENERATIONAL CONNECTION

By sharing stories, we learn from the past to shape the future with greater purpose. The Memory Keepers Project invites community members to listen deeply, honor lived experiences, and help shape how our most meaningful stories are gathered, understood, and passed on.

Save the Date:

On June 1, 2026, we will be having a Memory Keepers Celebration!

We will celebrate at a location in New York City, as well as locations across the world. Whether you can join us in person or online, stay tuned as we share details about how you can participate.

STEWARDING COLLECTIVE MEMORY

The Memory Keepers Project empowers participants to become compassionate stewards of collective memory, encouraging their ability to become narrators of a more connected, hopeful future. LitWorld collects and amplifies these stories, giving them a platform to be shared with an international community, ensuring that all of our stories play a role in shaping our world.
